Clinical VI: CED 499 Residency 2: The Professional Semester (student teaching) full semester school based clinical

During the professional semester, the teacher candidate is expected to demonstrate the dispositions and expertise of a polished professional educator. Candidate is expected to independently demonstrate and integrate all prior concepts from Clinicals 1 to 5. The candidate will attend all school functions, attend all faculty meetings and adhere to the calendar of the school/district assigned for the professional semester.

Prerequisites

  • Requires successful completion and demonstration of knowledge and skill sets of Clinical V
  • Application to Student Teaching and approval of application
  • Successful completion of all required course work
  • GPA of 2.75
  • Liability Insurance
  • Medical and TB Risk Assessment
  • KET certificate for Promoting Positive Behavior training modules
  • Background check for the county requested: Copy of actual background check must be in Clinical Experiences Office prior to first day of Boot Camp

Exit requirements

  • Signature assessment submission in Taskstream (Professional Growth Plan; Unit of Study)
  • Student voice results
  • Successful teaching experience

GATE 4: Exit from Professional Semester (Residency II) The Polished Professional

  • Licensure recommendation (link to Margaret's office)
  • Must provide copy of background check for EPSB processing (obtain from district offices)
  • Must be one year old or less
  • Fill out TC-1 application for certification
  • Degree completion and diploma
  • Work with Career Services to update resume and job seeking skills
