Clinical VI: CED 499 Residency II: The Professional Semester (Student Teaching)
Full Semester School-Based Clinical
During the professional semester, the Teacher Candidate is expected to demonstrate the dispositions and expertise of a polished professional educator. The Teacher Candidate is expected to independently demonstrate and integrate all prior concepts from Clinicals I to VI. The Teacher Candidate will attend all school functions, attend all faculty meetings and adhere to the calendar of the school/district assigned for the professional semester.

Prerequisites:
- Successful completion and demonstration of knowledge and skill sets of Clinical V
- Successful completion of all required course work
- Minimum GPA of 2.75
Admission Documents:
- Approval of Student Teaching Application
- General Medical & TB Risk Assessment
- IdentoGO Background Checks
- Central Registry Check (CAN)
- Purchase of Liability Insurance
- KET “Promoting Positive Behavior” Certificate
- Proof of 120 clinical hours in KFETS with 200 hours at the conclusion of CED 450
- Registration and completion of PRAXIS Content Exam(s) and Principles of Learning and Teaching Exam
- Remind Registration

- Literacy Course online (Secondary only)
Exit Requirements:
- Completion of teaching experience
- Completion of Performance Assessments with a passing grade
- Student Teaching Exit Survey
- Student Voice Survey
GATE 4: Exit from Professional Semester (Residency II)
The Polished Professional
- Degree Completion and Diploma
- Passing scores on all PRAXIS exams
- CA-1 Application and Certification
- If needed, work with Center for Career & Co-op to create/update resume and practice interview skills
